Solar Assessment Preparation Checklist for a Jávea/Xàbia Property

Use this checklist to collect the facts a future provider will need. It does not calculate system size, price, generation, savings, payback, grants or suitability.

Property and authority

  • Confirm whether you are the owner, an authorised representative, a community representative, a tenant or researching before purchase.
  • Identify any shared roof, community-of-owners decision or access restriction.
  • Note known planning, protected-property or community constraints without assuming their effect.

Electricity information

  • Prepare 12 months of electricity bills where available.
  • Download interval data from the distributor or supplier account where available.
  • Note full-time, seasonal, rental or currently unoccupied use.
  • List loads that continue while the property is empty, such as refrigeration, security, internet, gates and pool filtration.

Roof and access

  • Record roof type, approximate age and known condition.
  • Note usable sections, orientation, shade, chimneys, trees, terraces and neighbouring buildings.
  • Identify access constraints, likely cable routes and possible inverter or battery positions.
  • Prepare non-sensitive roof and equipment photographs if safe to take; do not climb onto the roof.

Large and future loads

  • List pool pumps, filtration schedules and any pool heater.
  • List air-conditioning, electric hot water and other significant electrical loads.
  • Note any planned EV charger, heat pump or aerothermal system.
  • Record which loads tend to run at the same time.

Existing equipment and backup

  • Record existing panel, inverter, battery and monitoring makes/models where known.
  • Note whether the property has reliable internet for connected monitoring.
  • If backup is wanted, list essential circuits such as refrigeration, lights, internet, gates or selected sockets.
  • Keep broader whole-property backup separate from essential-circuit backup when asking questions.

Questions for an eventual provider

  • Which panel, inverter and battery models are proposed, and why?
  • What roof mounting, access, electrical work and exclusions are included?
  • Which production assumptions, losses and occupancy pattern were used?
  • Who is responsible for municipal steps, electrical documentation and legalisation?
  • What monitoring, workmanship warranty, product warranty and aftercare route applies?
  • Who supports the system if the original installer is no longer available?

Documents to prepare

  • Bills and interval data, where available.
  • Non-sensitive roof and equipment photos.
  • Existing equipment model information and monitoring screenshots.
  • Community or property documents only when a provider explains why they are needed and how they will be handled.
