The swimming season affects the design

Do not size the whole solar system around one appliance
Pool filtration and heating are part of the villa’s overall load alongside cooling, hot water, cooking and general household use. Their operating times can sometimes be coordinated so the largest loads do not all start together.
The array should be designed from the complete demand pattern and available roof. Adding panels solely to chase the peak rating of a heat pump can lead to surplus at times when the equipment is not running.
Battery storage rarely replaces sensible timing
Charging a battery during the day and discharging it into a pool pump later introduces extra equipment and conversion losses. Where filtration can run in daylight, direct solar use is normally the simpler route.
Storage may still have a role for the rest of the villa, particularly where evening household demand is strong. Its value should be assessed across the property rather than justified by the pool alone.
Measure the existing pool equipment
The survey should identify pump ratings, controls, filtration hours and any existing heater. This prevents the solar design from relying on assumptions about equipment hidden in the pump room.
